Según imdb.com Parker Posey y Emily Mortimer no fueron las primeras opciones para los personajes de Jennifer Jolie (Gale Weathers en Stab) y de Angelina Tyler (Sidney Prescott en Stab) en Scream 3. A Alicia Silverstone se le ofreció la posibilidad de interpretar a Sidney en Stab 3 pero ella rechazó el papel. Los productores también pensaron en Tea Leoni para el papel de Jennifer pero finalmente fue para Parker.
