La otra Scary Movie/The other Scary Movie

Concebida para ser estrenada en cines, pero relegada al mercado de video debido a las similitudes con Scary Movie (2000) y a la gran popularidad conseguida por el título de Dimension Films.

"Me parece que... sé lo que gritastéis el último viernes 13" no es una buena película, claro que no, pero tiene algún detalle interesante. Está centrada principalmente en Scream y Scream 2 (no en Scream 3) con bastantes referencias a Sé lo que hicísteis el último verano, Muñeco Diabólico, Viernes 13, Halloween, Porky´s, Dawson Crece, Buffy... Por cierto, Aimee Graham, la hermana de Heather Graham (Scream 2), interpreta a un personaje caricatura del papel de Drew Barrymore en Scream: Casey Becker.

Designed to be released in theaters, but relegated to the video market because of similarities with Scary Movie (2000) and the great popularity achieved by the title of Dimension Films.

"Shriek if you know what I did last friday the 13th" is not a good movie, of course not, but has some interesting detail. Is mainly focused on Scream and Scream 2 (not on Scream 3) with many references to I Know What You Did Last Summer, Child's Play, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Porky's, Dawson's Creek, Buffy... By the way, Aimee Graham, Heather Graham´s sister (Scream 2), plays a cartoon of the role of Drew Barrymore in Scream: Casey Becker.

Did you know the official release date for Scream 3 was postponed from December 10th, 1999 to February 4th, 2000? Yes, the news came on the last day of shooting, September 29th, 1999.

Sencillamente genial/ Simply brilliant

Un final sencillamente genial, y nada tópico.  Nos encanta ésta toma. No hemos conocido una secuela de cine de terror tan elegante como ésta.

Scream 2: 13º Aniversario/ Scream 2: 13th Anniversary

Hace trece años Sidney Prescott y Gale Weathers gritaron por segunda vez en la secuela que todos se morían por ver. Hoy, 12 de diciembre de 2010 se cumple el décimo tercero aniversario del estreno de Scream 2. Bueno, el estreno con la presencia de los actores tuvo lugar el 10 de diciembre de 1997 en Hollywood, pero los fans de EEUU pudieron ver la película a partir del día 12 en 2663 salas. En el fin de semana de estreno recaudó 33 millones de dolares. En España tuvimos que esperar hasta el 24 de abril de 1998.

 

Thirteen years ago, Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers shouted a second time in the sequel that all were dying to see. Today, December 12, 2010 marks the thirteen anniversary of the premiere of Scream 2. Well, the premiere with the presence of actors took place on December 10th, 1997, in Hollywood, but U.S.A fans could watch the movie from 12th in 2663 theaters. In the opening weekend grossed 33 million dollars. In Spain we had to wait until April 24, 1998.

Detalles de Scream 2/Scream 2 Details #1

Es un detalle bastante obvio y no pretendemos insultar a los fans, pero también puede pasar desapercibido. En Scream y Scream 3 vemos un primer plano del marco con la fotografía de Sidney y Maureen, pero en Scream 2 no se utiliza ese tipo de plano detalle. Pero... ahí lo tenéis.

It's a pretty obvious detail and do not intend to insult the fans, but may go unnoticed. Scream and Scream 3 shows a closeup of the frame with the Sidney and Maureen photo, but Scream 2 not used that kind of detail shot. But ... there you have it.

Scream + Friends

Hemos preparado una comparativa de los cambios de Gale Weathers y Monica Geller. Tomando capturas de los primeros episodios de cada temporada hemos podido comprobar que el rodaje de cada película de Scream estaba casi ligado a una nueva temporada de Friends, por lo tanto el aspecto de la actriz era bastante semejante. Ademas de los cambios de peinado también son apreciables los cambios de peso de la actriz. Como bien sabemos, Scream siempre se ha rodado en verano (excepto la primera película que comenzó a rodarse en abril) por lo que deducimos que Cox utilizaba los descansos de verano para ésto y volvía al decorado de Friends en septiembre. We have prepared a comparison of  Gale Weathers and Monica Geller changes. Taking catch of the first episodes of every season we have seen the shooting of each Scream film was almost bound to a new season of Friends, so the appearance of the actress was quite similar. Besides the styling changes are also noticeable changes in weight of the actress. As we know, always Scream was filmed in summer (except for the first movie that began filming in April) so we conclude that Cox used the summer breaks and returned to the decor of Friends in September. Scream 4: ADR

Según Wes Craven, Scream 4 se encuentra en la fase ADR. Para aquellos que no estén familiarizados con este tipo de lenguaje técnico ha facilitado un link donde es explicado.

Se trata de un proceso en el que vuelven a grabarse los dialogos que no pueden ser rescatados de las pistas de audio del material rodado. En realidad lo que hacen los actores es doblarse a si mismos, haciendo uso de unos auriculares (donde escuchan ese audio de mala calidad) y un contador de tiempo como referencia visual que aparece en la pantalla donde se proyecta la imagen de la secuencia. El actor debe leer los dialogos intentando que coincidan con el movimiento de los labios y alcanzando la sincronización sin descuidar la interpretación.

According to Wes Craven, Scream 4 is in the ADR phase. For those who do not know what it means this technical language he has provided a link where is explained.  

This is a process that re-recorded the dialogues that can not be rescued from the audio track footage. In reality, what actors do is to dub themselves, using headphones (hearing the bad audio quality) and a timer as a visual reference that appears on the screen that projects the image of the sequence. The actor must read the dialogues trying to match the lip movements and achieving synchronization without neglecting the interpretation.

Randy: ¿Resurrección?/¿Resurrection?

Gracias a John Valeri hemos sabido que Jamie Kennedy ha sido recientemente entrevistado por Ask Men UK. En la entrevista se le preguntó, otra vez más, sobre la posible participación en Scream 4. Su respuesta deja a todos boquiabiertos. O se trata de una simple broma o... realmente Kennedy nos ha facilitado una pista importante.

¿Podremos verte en Scream 4?

JK: No puedo contarte eso. Tendrás que verla y descubrirlo. 
  
 

Thanks to John Valeri we learned that Jamie Kennedy was recently interviewed by Ask Men UK. In the interview he was asked, yet again, about possible participation in Scream 4. His response leaves everyone speechless. Or is it just a joke o. .. Kennedy really have given us an important clue.

Can we expect to see you in Scream 4?  

JK : I can’t tell you that! You’ll have to watch and find out!

Rebecca Weathers

Alison Brie (Mad Men), que interpreta a Rebecca, la asistente de Sidney durante la promoción del libro "Out of Darkness" en Scream 4, ha realizado algunas declaraciones respecto a su participación en la película en una entrevista con PopWrap.

 

Alison Brie (Mad Men), who plays Rebecca, the assistant to Sidney for the promotion of the book "Out of Darkness" on Scream 4 has made some statements regarding his participation in the film in an interview with PopWrap.

The oppressive veil of secrecy that surrounds "Scream 4" would smother most actors -- luckily for Alison Brie, she had a lot of practice staying mum. "I'd gone through it with 'Mad Men,' so I'm no stranger to keeping secrets," she told PopWrap of her role as Neve Campbell's assistant Rebecca in the April 15 release.

Thankfully we didn't have to threaten Alison with a long-distance game of "what's your favorite scary movie" to get her to spill a little bit on the role. "Rebecca sort of idolizes Courteney Cox’s character. She really looks up to Gale Weathers, so although she works with Neve, there’s a bit of the go-getting Gale from the original 'Scream' in Rebecca."

Snagging a plum role in the series reboot was something of a dream come true for Alison since she admits, "I was completely obsessed with the 'Scream' movies growing up. I've seen them over and over."

And funnily enough, this isn't her first brush with Ghostface. "They actually shot [the opening] of 'Scream 2' in my hometown," she tells PopWrap. "I watched them construct the Rialto Theater in South Pasadena, so it was a really cool feeling for me to be on the flipside seeing the fans turn out in droves to watch us film."

And Alison promises that even the most skeptical scary movie fans will be pleased with the newest installment. "'Scream 4' is very much like the original – it’s all about going back to their roots and blending the old school castmembers with the next generation. It’s a rebirth of the original."
